Just wanted to let fellow Lumberjocks in the Philadelphia PA area know that Spacht Sawmill will be having an open house this Saturday (Nov 3) from 9-3. Dave Spacht provides quality local hardwoods to local woodworkers, and unlike the larger mills, is as happy to help the hobbyist find 5 BF of cherry as to help a small shop or contractor that needs 100 BF. He has a wide selection of surfaced slabs an flitches if you like live-edge projects, too.
On Saturday, he will be offering demonstrations of how the sawmill works, at 10:30 and 1:30. Various local artisans, including myself, will be on hand with samples of our work, and willing to discuss their projects and techniques.
